Sun's Virtual Display Computing
CNT have recently partnered with Sun Microsystems on the delivery of Green Computing Solutions.
The Sun's Virtual Display Computing solution reduces the annual power costs by up to £175.00 per PC by replacing the PC with a Sunray device, these units consume 4 watts of power in contrast a PC consumes over 70 watts.
In addition to costing significantly less than PC to buy and then run, they last at least 5 times longer than a PC because they have no moving parts. For every 100 PCs replaced with a Sunray on average an organisation will save £11,750.00 per annum in electricty charges and 50 metric tons in CO2 emmisions.
